Doris Minder, LMSW, CASAC-T
Licensed Therapist
I support individuals across Long Island who are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship and attachment challenges, and life transitions. As a bilingual therapist, I strive to create a welcoming and supportive space where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based, drawing from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness-based strategies. I focus on helping clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and develop practical tools that lead to meaningful, lasting change. I also have experience working with children and adolescents (K–12) in school settings, supporting social-emotional development and helping families navigate academic and life challenges.
As a Puerto Rican therapist of color, I value cultural awareness and aim to create a space where individuals from all backgrounds feel respected, understood, and supported.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. My goal is to make that first conversation feel comfortable, approachable, and supportive so that clients can begin their work with confidence.
